Robin The Death'

 Preface

I'd never given much thought to how I would die,-- though I'd had reason enough in the last few months.-- But even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this.

I stared without breathing across the long room, into the dark eyes of the hunter, and he looked pleasantly back at me.

Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of someone else, someone I loved. Noble, even. That ought to count for something.

I knew that if I'd never gone to Forks, I wouldn't be facing death now. But, terrified as I was, I couldn't bring myself to regret the decision. When life offers you a dream so far beyond any of your expectations, it's not reasonable to grieve when it comes to an end. The hunter smiled in a friendly way as he sauntered forward to kill me.

Chapter 1

                         All around Robin

In the quaint village of Clovelly on the Devon coast, where narrow cobbled streets wind their way up a steep hill lined with charming cottages, lived a boy named Harry. Harry was a sweet British lad, known for his charm and intelligence. Blessed with many God-given talents, he was always kind-hearted, ever ready to help those in need. His altruism was well-known among the villagers, and despite his young age, he was admired for his maturity and generosity.

Harry lived with his parents, Olivia and Oscar Smith. His father, Oscar, was one of the wealthiest men in town. However, his wealth brought with it a darkness; Oscar was an abusive man, his temper often unleashed upon his family. Harry's mother, Olivia, was a housewife who also dabbled in business. Yet beneath her polished exterior lay a psychopathic cruelty. She regularly vented her frustrations from both her domestic and professional life onto Harry, making his home a place of silent suffering.

In this oppressive household, Harry became a quiet, introspective boy, finding solace in his studies and his dreams of a better future. He attended the local academy, where he was known for his punctuality and dedication. Despite his difficult home life, he excelled academically, driven by a fervent desire to escape his circumstances.

Harry had no siblings, but his parents each came from large families, filling his life with numerous cousins. This extended family did little to alleviate his loneliness, as the constant emotional turmoil at home overshadowed any sense of familial camaraderie.

Though Harry harbored grand dreams of one day building a home filled with love and warmth, his life was marked by a profound sense of longing. The one thing that eluded him, the thing he yearned for most, was love—a genuine, unconditional love that could heal his wounded heart and lift him from the shadows cast by his parents' cruelty.

In the picturesque yet paradoxically harsh setting of Clovelly, Harry's story is one of resilience and hope, a silent struggle against the villains who should have been his protectors. His journey is a poignant reminder of the strength it takes to dream of light in the darkest of times.

On December 4th, 1904, in the bustling city of Manchester, Harry was born into a world fraught with darkness and malevolence. His early days were spent in the company of his grandparents, where his grandmother, known to be a witch and one of the most malevolent beings in the universe, held sway over the household. She was a manipulative force, devoid of any maternal affection, seeking to control and destroy those around her. Harry's grandfather, equally nefarious, mirrored her sinister traits.

Shortly after Harry's birth, his parents, Olivia and Oscar Smith, sought to escape the toxic environment of their native home. They moved to the serene yet steeply cobbled streets of Clovelly on the Devon coast, hoping for a fresh start. Harry was only a few months old when they made this move, a mere infant unaware of the storm that brewed within his family.

However, the move did little to quell the turmoil between Olivia and Oscar. Their marriage was a battleground, with arguments igniting over the smallest provocations. Oscar, a man whose wealth masked a cruel and abusive nature, frequently directed his rage towards Olivia, sometimes to the point of physical violence. On one harrowing occasion, in a drunken frenzy, he nearly broke Olivia's leg. It was only Harry's cries that halted Oscar's assault, sparing Olivia from permanent injury.

Yet, Olivia was far from a victimized saint. She possessed a wickedness that rivaled her husband's brutality. When not suffering under Oscar's wrath, she unleashed her own frustrations upon Harry, blaming him for the family's misfortunes. Her cruel words and harsh beatings became a twisted outlet for her anger, turning Harry's home into a prison of fear and pain.

Their home was a place of ceaseless conflict, where Harry's young mind was battered by the constant turmoil. Oscar's drunken rages filled the house with the sound of shattering glass and harsh, slurred threats. "You're worthless, Olivia! Just like this useless boy!" he would bellow, his voice echoing through the walls.

Olivia, in turn, would lash out at Harry. "This is all your fault, Harry! If you had never been born, my life wouldn't be such a disaster!" she screamed, her face contorted with fury. Her hands, which should have offered comfort, only brought pain as she struck him repeatedly.

Despite the constant abuse and the emotional chaos, Harry grew into a quiet and introspective boy. He sought refuge in his studies, finding solace in books and his dreams of a life far removed from the nightmare he lived daily. His academic dedication was his escape, a glimmer of hope in an otherwise bleak existence.

Though surrounded by a large extended family of cousins, the dysfunction at home overshadowed any sense of kinship. Harry's life was a solitary struggle, marked by a yearning for love and a relentless drive to rise above thes Shadows cast by his parents' villainy.
