The Uddhav government had decided to increase the lockdown in Maharashtra's hotspot areas just two days ago, but now the order has been issued for the entire state. Extended lockdown period until 31 May Highlights:

To prevent the spread of Covid-19, the CM Uddhav Thackeray -led government extended the lockdown 4.O in Maharashtra till 31 May. The lockdown was increased in hotspot areas just two days ago, but now the order has been issued for the entire state.
The Maharashtra government issued an order on Sunday on the last day of Lockdown 3.0. All government departments have been instructed to follow the guidelines. Maharashtra has become the second state after Punjab, where the lockdown has been extended to 3 May. Chief Secretary Ajoy Mehta has issued an order extending the lockdown period. "The lockdown orders will be notified of the concessions in a phased manner," the order said. Significantly, the current lockdown was valid from May 2 to May 17.He said, 'Lockdown 3.0 ended today. Lockdown 4.0 will come into effect from tomorrow and will be in force until 31 May. Some concessions will be given in the fourth phase. He informed that in order to introduce more services, more concessions will be available to the Green and Orange zones. For now only mandatory services are operational. - More than a thousand deaths ;

After the cabinet meeting on Thursday, the lockdown was extended to 31 May in all hotspot areas in Maharashtra including the capital Mumbai.The lockdown period was extended in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Solapur, Aurangabad and Malegaon. Now the lockdown has been extended across the state.
- Punjab government also extended lockdown ;
- Punjab government has decided to remove curfew from the state after 18 May. However the lockdown will continue till 31 May. Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said that after May 18, most shops will open and small traders will be allowed to work.
